How I Chose My College!

How I Chose My College!

Hi lovelies!

A few months ago, I was accepted into my dream college. I will be attending Kent State University in the fall of 2018 to study fashion and journalism. I remember sophomore and junior year of high school, I was completely overwhelmed and thought I would never be able to make a decision on where I wanted to go. And yet my decision to go to Kent was comically easy.

They say you “just know” when you visit a school and it’s right for you. I would be lying if I said this wasn’t true. As soon as I stepped foot on campus, I felt in my bones that it was the right place for me. By the end of my first visit, there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to go there.

There is a lot of pressure these days to have your entire future planned out from day one. But the truth is, you can and will change your mind. You are allowed to change your major and even your college. There’s no rule that says you have to get it all right the first time.

To me, this sentiment is comforting. Your interests and opinions will change. I used to want to go to medical school to become a gastroenterologist, and now I am accepted into fashion school. Life is funny that way. You might think you have all your plans lined up and then BAM! You change your mind.

But there will come a time when you don’t change your mind. When you find the right place, the right people, the right purpose, and you’ll finally feel a sense of belonging. You just have to be patient. Sometimes you’ll find it when you’re not even looking.

I am so excited to be starting my next chapter in less than a year. There is a lot that I am ready to leave behind, and even more that I am ready to take on.

I guess that’s how I chose my college, guys; by letting my college choose me.

Thanks for reading! If you have/are planning on attending college, leave a comment letting me know where! I think it would be so cool to read all the different places you guys have been.

Have a wonderful day. 🙂
