Finding the Beauty: A Narrative Photo Diary

Finding the Beauty: A Narrative Photo Diary

Hi, loves!

I think that there is something remarkable about finding beauty in the darkness. When times are tough, everything can seem like a personal attack on you. But there are small reminders out there that all is well in the universe.

I think it’s important to keep in mind what is in and out of your control. You can’t control if someone is mean to you; you can’t control if you get cancelled on; but you can take three deep breaths and move on.

For me, that’s something I need to work on. But I am learning. Sometimes it’s easier to let it go rather than dwelling on whatever is upsetting you. And there are so many positive ways to channel your energy.

I like to either write in my journal or go out for a walk to clear my head. A moment away from reality is all you need most of the time.

I definitely believe that taking a few moments to regain a level head is better than passing your bad energy on to the next person (@ The Chain of Screaming from HIMYM) but that takes a lot of patience and practice. It’s not your first instinct and that makes it hard.

As a “lover of beauty and observer of details,” what helps me most is to go find something beautiful. And there are some little spots around town that help me to do that. Whether it’s a coffee shop or a bookstore, spending a little time in some place magical just cures my woes.

Sometimes, all it takes is looking closely for something lovely to pick up your mood.

Thanks for reading!
