Review: The Royal We by Heather Cocks & Jessica Morgan

Merry Christmas Eve, my lovelies!

Over the last few days, I’ve had the pleasure of reading the exquisite The Royal We for fun. After months of reading archaic Brit-Lit at school which, while hauntingly brilliant, is at times hopelessly boring, I finally seized the opportunity to read some chick lit for my own enjoyment.

I absolutely loved this book. While the storyline is undeniably cliche (boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back) the book is extremely well-written and factually accurate. I love the way it portrays what living in the spotlight must really be like. The major theme is that being harassed by the media takes a toll on what would otherwise be a normal life.

This book was actually written by fellow bloggers, so of course I am overwhelmingly supportive of others in my field writing a bestseller. But for the girl who loves romantic novels and can also appreciate some fine English vocabulary, this book is for you.

The story takes place in Oxford, and follows the twenties of American “Bex,” who unsuspectingly falls into the courtship of Prince Nicholas of Wales. What I loved most, though, was the character development in the supporting roles. This is a book where you really get emotionally involved.

If you’re looking to check out a book over your winter vacation, I highly recommend this one!

I hope you all have a very merry Christmas!

Thanks for reading!

XO,

Grace
