Hello, my dears!
I should have gotten this post up weeks ago (insert embarrassed red-faced emoji here…) but I totally forgot that I stocked up on pictures at this little cafe. Let me start off by saying that Cleveland’s food scene is incredible…if you’re willing to do a little bit of searching. Most of the best restaurants are off the beaten path, and I plan on writing an entire post on the best ones soon…but for now, let’s talk about Cafe Avalaun in Warrensville Heights.
Cleveland has a few good options when it comes to allergy-friendly restaurants. My mother found out about this place because they have so many gluten free and vegan dishes. So on New Year’s Eve, we decided to have lunch there as a family.
I am a big fan of crepes, and this place has plenty of them. And of course, I try whatever version of a chai latte is available everywhere I go…but this one wasn’t my favorite. 🙁 It just wasn’t sweet enough for my liking. I’ve been craving another one of these lemon and sugar crepes ever since I went, though!
If you have a dietary restriction and you’re looking for a place that can offer you more than just a salad, you might want to give this one a go. They even have gluten-free bakery, which is hard to come by.
However, I am writing this from the perspective of someone who does not have to be careful of ingredients. But this place is definitely aware of the proper way to prepare food so that it isn’t contaminated with flour and milk, so that will give you some peace of mind.
And even if you’re just looking to eat a bit healthier, this place has plenty of variety.
Thanks for reading! If you’re one of my Cleveland peeps, leave a comment and let me know what your favorite restaurant is!
