Wearing What You Want: A Word on Personal Style

Wearing What You Want: A Word on Personal Style

Hello, my loves,

I’m really feeling the fashion vibes lately, so I’m writing another fashion post today (sorry not sorry)…but this one is more talking about style in general.

In my post Why I Wear High Heels, I talked about wearing what makes you happy, even if it means other people look at you funny. I think it takes a lot of courage to put on a crazy pair of shoes and strut around Starbucks and class and whatnot like it’s your runway.

I used to be so afraid of my own style; I was afraid of pairing certain pieces, wearing too high of shoes, and drawing too much attention to myself. But I found a new type of confidence when I started marching to the beat of my own drum and wearing what I actually liked.

You can wear anything well with confidence. If you feel great in an outfit, you will look great, too. There’s something to be said for the designers, models, and trendsetters who challenge the “rules” of fashion and wear something completely unique and their own. That’s confidence. That’s style. That, my friends, is art.

I don’t really believe in the “rules of fashion.” In my world, fashion is one of the only things that has no rules. You want to wear an electric pink pair of platforms to a Christmas party? I say do it. If other people don’t like it, they don’t have to wear it.

Your clothes are all about you. Think of all the amazing outfits you’re wasting trying to please other people.

Wear what you want, and wear it well.

Thanks for reading!
