On my mind today:
The decisions never stop in life. Our choices determine where we go and who we become. We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to always make the right choice first. And even if we feel unhappy with that choice, we might try to “stick it out.” We don’t want to quit. But there’s a difference between quitting and letting go…
I think as long as you’ve given something a fair chance, it’s natural to realize if it’s working out for you or not. Walking away from something that’s not serving you is not quitting, it’s just moving on. It’s hard to do, because our ego doesn’t like it and it might mean doing some extra work to find the right thing. For example- leaving a job, transferring schools, ending a relationship, moving to a new city…these are all big decisions a lot of us make at some point. And they’re hard! Every little bit of them is hard. No one likes paperwork, jumping through hoops, or uncomfortable conversations. But we do it to get to where we need to be. And it’s worth it!
I’m a firm believer that you don’t have to stay stuck where you are if you don’t like it. Open yourself up to bigger and better things. Be watchful for new opportunities. Be a pain in the ass sometimes, if it means getting what you need!
If you’re unhappy, change something!
