2018 in Review

2018 in Review

2018 was a very eventful year. Some days were amazing, and some days were awful. So much changed and sometimes I felt like I couldn’t keep up. I had to grow up a lot, more than I was expecting. But it was all for the best, and in 2019 I hope for a bit more stability.

January:

I started my job at White Magnolia, where you can still drop in and see me occasionally. 😉 It’s the longest I’ve ever held down a job (1 year!)

February:

I was in a fashion show! (Excuse the red eyes lol) And I ate a lot of Valentine’s chocolate. I met my friend Natalie for the first time! And my blog started gaining momentum, as I networked more and worked with brands.

March:

My senioritis started kicking in (bad) and I jetted off to sunny Florida.

April:

I discovered minimalism, went to another fashion show, met someone who would turn out to be a lot of trouble, and started working at a gym. Also, Heavenlee Penny’s turned one!

May:

I finished high school, took my AP exams, did an internship, got a tattoo, enrolled in yoga teacher training, and withdrew from KSU. (A LOT WENT DOWN)

June:

I graduated, enrolled at LCC, and sprained my ankle (again). I also met my friend Paige!

July:

I basically just worked my tail off and went to the Kusama exhibit with Angela. And did some belly dancing.

August:

I started my job at Passport to Peru, started college, visited Kent a few times, and started seeing a therapist.

September:

I worked, spent some time at the art museum, went on a lot of fun adventures in Chagrin, and decided to transfer.

October:

I re-applied to Kent, quit my job at Passport, went to NYC, went to Columbus, started working at a yoga studio, got a dramatic haircut, and celebrated Halloween.

November:

I started getting really, really excited to come to Kent. I left my job at the yoga studio and found a new place to live.

December:

I finished the semester with a 4.0, moved, and lost my dearest friend, Waffle.

Like I said…a lot went down.

I am thankful for all the wonderful people I spent time with. The ones who were there for me during the hardest times. I am grateful for my travels and experiences. I am thrilled to have been given endless chances to start again.

So as the New Year rolls around, I’m not wishing for a chance to start over. I got that chance every day this year, and I became a completely different person. So if 2019 wants to throw all my shit at the fan, let it. 2018 taught me to roll with the punches.

I wish you all health and happiness in the New Year.

Grace
