I posted a picture of this lit smoothie bowl on my Instagram yesterday, and I decided to write a more detailed blog post providing some power smoothie recipes. I make smoothies a lot because they’re a really good way to hydrate after a long day. The blender is literally always running in our house. So, today I will show you how I make three different smoothies and a smoothie bowl!
Recipe #1: Acaí bowl
Fruits of choice (I use bananas, strawberries, and blueberries)
Agave or honey
Milk or milk substitute (I use coconut milk or almond milk)
Process: Blend a few handfuls of fruit (I use one banana, a palm full of blueberries, and a few strawberries) two tablespoons of chia seeds, a half cup of milk or milk substitute, a few ice cubes, a drizzle of agave, and roughly one tablespoon of acaí powder. Pour the mixture into a bowl and top with coconut flakes, chia seeds, goji berries, and fruit.
Recipe #2: Funky Monkey protein smoothie
Two heaping tablespoons of nut butter
Roughly one cup of almond milk
Process: Blend all ingredients and that’s literally it! This smoothie is very refreshing and filling!
Recipe #3: Sweetheart smoothie
One cup of strawberries
One serving of vanilla Greek yogurt
Milk or milk substitute
Process: Blend all ingredients and enjoy! This smoothie tastes like Valentine’s Day in a cup.
Recipe #4: Fruity smoothie
Roughly five or six large strawberries
One cup of orange juice
Process: Blend all ingredients and enjoy! This smoothie is very hydrating but does not have a protein factor, so to avoid a sugar crash, enjoy it with a balanced meal.
I hope these recipes were helpful and inspiring! Thanks for reading!
