Hello my lovelies!
I have something to tell you. Remember when I said that I swore by L’Occitane Neroli & Orchid perfume? Well, we have decided to part ways. I reached the end of the bottle and decided it was time for a change. Being that it was my signature scent for almost two years, I was apprehensive to trying something new. But I decided I was ready for something a little darker, a little spicier, so here we are.
My mom and I had quite a fun afternoon sampling fragrances at Jo Malone. I was looking to try out the Peony & Blush Suede scent, but I ended up falling in love with the Velvet Rose & Oud cologne. It is definitely darker than my old favorite, and far from a blushing bouquet. While I normally never gravitate toward rose scents, this one just entranced me. It is classically rosy with a spicy kick- the perfect alternative for my usual powdery floral fragrance. While my Neroli & Orchid will always hold a place in my heart, this new fragrance is definitely its darker, older sister. Jo Malone has also trademarked “fragrance mixing,” or layering more than one perfume to create a unique scent of your own.
I just tried this perfume out and while I love the smell, it doesn’t seem to hold well throughout the day. I’m sure if you reapply or layer it with a lotion it will be stronger. It is definitely not imposing, even though it is a darker, richer scent. I really like it!
I will update you guys as I continue using this product, but I definitely recommend Jo Malone if you aren’t into super musky, department-store perfumes.
Have a wonderful day! Thanks for reading! <3
